Love Your Bare Face with Julep
I've teamed up with Julep to share their newest skincare collection with you! As most of you know, I'm a freak about my skin. I refuse to fall asleep wearing makeup, moisturizing before bed is a must, and staying hydrated is a daily goal of mine. I always hesitate before trying a new skincare product because let's face it... break outs suck! If you struggle with sensitive skin, we have a lot in common.
Here's my skincare background:
My aunti Lori used to sell a brand by the name of Beauty Control. I used one of their sensitive skin lines throughout middle school & magically never suffered from those t-zone breakouts all my friends had. I swore by these products. When my mom went to place my next order she realized that they discontinued that collection of products. I tried a few of their others but I developed a few blemishes and wanted to use what all my girlfriends were using (drug store skincare brands). I tested out a few different brands, basing my decision on the color of the product and the scent (grapefruit was a must) so you can just imagine what happened to my face in that short period of time. My "few blemishes" turned into acne. I'm not going to sugar coat this.. it was awful. Not only was I battling depression and starting high school, adding acne to the mix killed my self esteem. What did I do to fix it? I turned on my tv and saw that Pro Active was all the rage. Worst decision I've ever made. The acne I thought I had was nothing compared to what the Pro Active did to my skin. Under the skin, painful, acne. Sophomore year, my manager gave me a sample pack from a local all natural skincare store (sumbody for my local readers). My face cleared up within 2 weeks. ALL MY ACNE WAS GONE WITHIN 2 WEEKS. I then took a pledge to always read what I'm putting on my face. Fast forward to 2017 and I only suffer from the occasional hormonal breakouts.
When Julep reached out and asked if they could send me their new collection, I instantly read up on what goes into the products.
Their Detoxifying Cleansing Balm Stick has rice bran oil (deeply removes dirt and excess oils), pomegranate fruit enzymes (gently exfoliates for brighter and softer skin), grapefruit peel oil (to even the skin tone), and camellia oil (provides hydration and clarity).
Their Hydrating Cleansing Oil has grape seed oil, olive oil, rose oil, grapefruit peel, Vitamin E, coffee seed oil, sunflower oil, rosemary leaf extract, and hibiscus extract.
All these ingredients stand out to me for a few reasons..
1. I can pronounce them.
2. They're all natural.
3. They all provide gentle benefits, no harsh chemicals.
I'm always honest with my readers and want to be very clear when reviewing products. I'm totally in love with Julep. These two products leave my skin feeling fresh, bright, and all around healthy. I would recommend this duo to anyone who's looking to switch up their skincare regime. You don't need to use a lot of product to get good results.. the bottles will last you a while!
If you struggle with sensitive skin I'd love to hear from you. I want to hear about the products your using and how you feel about them! Feel free to send me a direct message or just comment below and I'll happily respond :) In the meantime, check out Julep's website HERE - they also sell amazing nail polish!
