| OK, HI! INTRODUCE YOURSELF. |
Hello everyone! I am so happy to introduce myself and thankful Megan is having me write! I am a California girl who decided to adventure to Hawaii for college. I'm passionate about being active and in tune with my mind, body, and spirit. I am currently in college getting my degree in dance but my workout of choice is weightlifting. Living a healthy life has been something important since I was little, but I didn't realize that everyone has a different version of health in their life. Over the past few years my goal has been to find my own version of balance with exercise and nutrition.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR HEALTH, FITNESS ROUTINE, & EVERYDAY LIFESTYLE.
I am going to be extremely honest- I am pretty strict with my workout routine. I usually workout 6 days a week because it's my outlet. It's my time to release some energy and focus solely on me. I lift weights 6 days a week usually doing 6-8 exercises during each session and split up the days to focus on different body parts.

“It’s my time to release some energy and focus solely on me.”

With diet- I have been through the ringer with food. On Instagram you see a ton of diets that work. But, you don't realize that every single person has different needs mentally and physically. All diets work if you're in a caloric deficit, so pick a "food style" that works for you. I truly believe it's all a work in progress. I started with what I thought was clean eating, which meant eating way less than my body needed. I considered food groups good and bad, and was ashamed when I ate a slice of pizza or a bite of cake. Then, I fell in love with IIFYM. In simple terms, this diet is basically eating whatever you want as long as it fits your macronutrients and calories. This lead me to understand that no matter what food I ate, I could still make progress... no more feelings of fear with food. But then, I got obsessive. I would've picked a packaged meal versus whole salad because I knew the calories of the package and not the salad (I completely disregarded nutrient needs and hormone health). I knew it was time to start eating intuitively and now have been for awhile. I eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm full. I enjoy eating whole foods that make me feel good but don't feel bad if I have froyo or go out to dinner. Overall, my advice to anyone who is interested in changing there life is to analyze what you need. Do you feel tired and sluggish after certain foods? Do you enjoy the sunshine? Go for a walk and prep a healthy breakfast for the morning. It's all about little changes that benefit not only your physical appearance but your internal system.

YOU SHARE TONS OF DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY RECIPES ON YOUR INSTAGRAM. WHAT ARE A COUPLE OF YOUR FAVORITES THAT EVERYONE WILL ENJOY?
I must admit I am the worst cook but I do kill the protein pancake game. I use one serving kodiak cakes (honey flavor) and one scoop of vanilla protein (JYM or Quest). I add in a few sliced bananas or blueberries and realized the secret is to cook them in a little coconut oil. Top with pure maple syrup, honey/agave, or sugar free syrup (for people focused on calories). I have a hard time cooking dinner because I seriously burn everything I cook. Usually I go for a veggie burger with a high protein bun or sweet potato and ground turkey. I don't limit myself to any foods, I truly just find a healthy alternative to whatever I'm craving. I find simple things like 60 second rice and high protein veggie patties so important to keep around because everyones biggest excuse is "I don't have time". Find the simple things in your grocery store (that you like)- and stock up!

YOU HAVE AMAZING SKIN! WHAT ARE SOME BEAUTY SECRETS WE NEED TO KNOW.
My goal this year is not only to improve my physical health, but to find consistency with self care. I am currently loving the Peter Tomas Roth Irish mud mask! I have used this for a year now and find it's great for normal to dry skin. Also, with living in Hawaii and being a pale girl, I always rely on Loving Tan for fake tanning. I always feel more confident in my skin when I use this.

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT TO DO AT HOME?
My favorite at home workout is yoga. I don't know if I would consider my stretches a full workout, but it feels so good to stretch when I wake up. I have been really trying to get my day started with feeling grounded. This is a new routine I have been doing, no yoga mat or anything special. Just some hot coffee and a few stretches to get my blood flowing.

WHEN/IF YOU GET STRESSED OUT, WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU DO TO RELAX?
Although I don't speak much of it, I struggle with anxiety and do take a holistic approach to treat it. I rely on gaba from Whole Foods the most. These all natural capsules help with anxiety and stress. Journaling and drinking hot tea is also my go to. I love taking a hot shower and putting on my favorite sweats and getting in bed. I try to do the same thing every time I get stressed or anxious because it allows me to cling to a routine that I find comfort in.

YOUR DAILY COFFEE ORDER?
Black! or when I am feeling fancy I get an almond milk latte.

NUMBER ONE TIP FOR YOU READERS IF THEIR TRYING TO GET FIT & LIVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
Be consistent! I have spent a good 3 years in the gym and finally I feel like I have made a good amount of progress from the beginning of my journey. Pick a workout routine and food style that is doable for life. Find a few changes you can make in your week and focus on those. I find the fitness world so intense. It is so focused on the physical appearance that you lose the whole point of the journey- happiness, self love, and longevity/quality of life. Be kind to your body and mind throughout the process. You can't always rely on the motivation of wanting to change your physical appearance, so remember why people exercise in the first place- to have a body that functions properly in the future.
